Healthy Eating Doesn’t Have To Be Boring

Healthy Eating Doesn't Have To Be Boring
It really doesn't....

A lot of people assume that by eating healthy, it means that you'll be eating 'boring' food however - that couldn't be further from the truth.
For me, eating healthy isn't something that I have to do - it's something that I chose to do for myself and as a result, I feel so much better, uplifted, energised and overall happier.
This isn't something that will only benefit your body - your mindset will benefit too as you're providing your body with key nutrients and ingredients to function in the best way possible.
In this post, I'm sharing some of my tips on how you can easily start eating healthy and incorporating different ingredients to your meals to see the benefits for yourself too! 🙂
(P.S - Yes - I do eat Pizza, I do eat Nando's (vegetarian option) and I do drink Starbucks all in moderation - and YES, even if you're vegan you can eat so many yummy things, take a look at my post feature here)

Healthy Eating Doesn't Have To Be Boring
One of the most exciting things about eating healthy is the fact that you start using so many incredible ingredients to create some of the tastiest dishes around.
I'm not strict when it comes to my diet and I'll eat anything I want in moderation but something that I love for breakfast is a 'yoghurt' fruit bowl with cereal or granola.
It's so yummy, so tasty and fills you up until the afternoon plus you get all the benefits and nutrition.
Switch things up with different fruits from different seasons, add granola for extra sweetness and crunch and add walnuts, pecans or almonds for extra nutrition too.
Healthy Eating Doesn't Have To Be Boring
As mentioned above, one of the best things about eating healthy s the ingredients which you're open to using and incorporating in meals.
There's such a variety out there and by checking up on recipes and with a bit of imagination - you can create some of the most delicious meals.
One thing which I've started seeing a rise of is people actually growing basic ingredients and herbs in their garden. I love this and what's better is the fact that things taste so much better when they're home-made (meals) or home-grown.
What to Grow?
There's so many things you can grow from tomatoes to potatoes however in the UK, one of the easiest things to do is growing carrots.
I didn't know this but carrots grow best in cooler conditions (perfect for the UK) and will even survive light frosts - known for their nutritional benefits, you can use them in different ways for different meals.
You can roast them with potatoes and other vegetables in the oven, boil them and team them up with mash, create your own version of coleslaw or even cubed in salads like the one featured on the right.
I mean, just look how tasty the salad looks - bright colours and such a variety of vegetables which are super-beneficial for you!
Add Cous-cous or Quinoa along with your favourite herbs and that's a super-healthy, super-yummy meal!

There's so much more to eating healthy and no - things don't have to be boring. You can think outside the box when it comes to your meals and experiment with new ingredients, herbs and spices.
That's the fun part about cooking and when you eat healthy, it means that you can eat what you like, when you like - all in a balanced way.
I still go out and eat pizza even though I enjoy making pizza at home, I still go out for meals even though I love cooking and I still enjoy going to cafe's.
You don't have to cut out everything but by incorporating new things to your diet and leading a more balanced and healthy lifestyle, you can enjoy everything.
I'd love to know what you all think - let me know if there's certain foods that you enjoy or if there's certain things you've cut from your diet.
I'll be featuring some healthy recipes in coming posts and I think you're all going to enjoy them as there's lots of sweet treats coming your way too! 🙂
