Start Your Day Healthy
Start Your Day Healthy – Yes!! You – you lovely reader that’s sat reading this, start your day healthy – NOW! 🙂
People that know me well will know that I’m a little bit of a health-freak, don’t get me wrong, I love my cakes, cookies and desserts but overall I am one healthy girl and it begins when you start your day healthy!
Seeing as it’s a new month, I thought it would be a good way to share some tips and tricks on how to become a healthier you – nothing drastic, just a few simple steps that could make you feel a lot more positive and happier! 🙂
Start Your Day Healthy – Lemon Juice
I’ll be talking about lemon juice in another post as I want to cover this in detail but did you know that this is one of the easiest and BEST ways to start your day healthy?
Freshly squeezed lemon juice is a natural cleanser and by adding a whole lemon to warm water and honey in the morning will cleanse your system and flush out all those nasty toxins.
It’s a mini-detox for your digestive system but it’ll also help you with breakouts by reducing them completely! 🙂
Start Your Day Healthy – Breakfast
Why start most of your days by eating a huge fry-up?
Even though I consider myself to be healthy, I’ll allow myself to eat what I want, when I want however it’s all in moderation and yes – including that bacon butty (I’m still a northerner at heart)
When I feel hungry in the morning what I like to do is have plain yoghurt topped with fresh fruit, cereal, cashew nuts / walnuts and honey – not only is this healthy but it’s super-yummy and will keep you feeling fuller for longer……hurray!
In the autumn and winter I’ll want ‘warmer food’ so this will probably change to a slice of toast topped with a mashed avocado, black pepper and a touch of balsamic glaze vinegar – see, yummy can still be healthy! 🙂
Start Your Day Healthy – Coffee
My family is Greek so it won’t come as a surprise to say to you that I love my coffee and I have a sneak suspicion that most of you will have seen my Instagram Pictures that confirm this! 😉
Whilst I do drink many coffees during the day, I do try and limit the amount of milk that I add to it. In the morning I’ll have milk in my coffee as this is what I crave but as the day carries on I end up drinking espresso-like, Greek Coffee which has no milk.
Tip – Try almond milk! I love almond milk with my cereal (not so much my coffee) as it really tastes lovely and is SO much healthier! 🙂
Start Your Day Healthy – Water
Yes, it’s been said once and it will be said again!
Water is everyone’s best friend, no matter what age you are – you should try and keep hydrated during the day but if you can’t try and drink 2 glasses of water in the morning, I do!
1 cup is mixed with the lemon mixture (written above) which is then followed by a glass of water….
I’m not the best at drinking the amount of water that’s recommended but I do try – in the evening when I sit down and go through my emails or write blog posts I’ll drink at least 2-3 pint glasses of water.
If you’re a blogger like me then your skin will thank you for this – it’s essential to drink as much as you can as we constantly look at screens which causes havoc on our skin and by drinking water you’ll see how radiant your skin looks after a couple of weeks! 🙂
So, there we have my tips and tricks on how to start your day healthy – it’s really easy to do and it’s simple, little things that make all the difference!
By becoming healthier you’ll feel a lot better which in turn will make you a lot happier, positive and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you! 🙂
Have a lovely day everyone and let me know what you think – I’ll be reading all your comments soon! 🙂

Great tips. I haven’t eaten that healthy these past month. I should get back doing it. It’s true, I felt much better 😀 I not Greek but I love that coffee too. We (Serbia) drink it that way as well 😀 Happy Friday Layla!
xx
Hahahaha!!! Thank you so much for your comment and it’s so nice that you drink coffee too! Ah, yay – good to know we drink it the same 🙂 xxx
That looks delicious, Thank you so much for sharing such a great tips for healthy lifestyle. I don’t normally grab water as I should have or drink water as much as I should have. I mostly drink green tea to replace the water or orange juice or any flavoured water. I should really start drinking plain water rather than just flavoured but as much as I love having to slice a lemon and squeeze tiny bit of it into my cold water and drink it during the day, its very refreshing. This really inspire me to really look into my daily diet or how much liquid goes into my body. Gosh! I am so bad keeping myself healthy.
Have a good day!

Funny you’ve mentioned the lemon juice here, Layla! I’ve started to drink it with water since the last week and somehow recognized already some benefits of it. Anyhow I still have to force myself to drink more water in general! Thank you for the useful tips, dear! Happy Friday!
