Keep Warm This Fall and Still Look Cool

how-to-keep-warm-fall-autumn-stylish

Keep Warm This Fall and Still Look Cool – Yes, fall autumn 2015 is upon us and if you’re in the UK like myself then you’ll be settling with this weather by now!

As I’m writing this I have the heating on, candles lit and I’m wrapped up in my fluffy dressing gown – terrible considering it’s only September…..what’s next? Snow!?

I feel like many people think of fall / autumn as a miserable time – but that’s only if we make it miserable and yes I know it’s raining most of the time and the clouds are grey BUT that’s where fashion comes in! 🙂

Just because the sun has gone, it doesn’t mean that we still can’t have fun with our clothes and wear colour – here are some fool-proof ways on how to keep warm this fall AND still look cool! 🙂 Enjoy!

Keep warm this fall and still look cool – Coats

This HAS to be one of the easiest and simple of ways to add a bit of ‘oomph’ to your look – not only do coats keep you warm but there’s such a variety out there and sooooo many colours to choose from!

I’ll be opting for oversized coats this winter and I’d like to add a couple of pastel shades to the mix, including pink! Cotton Candy anyone? 🙂

Keep warm this fall and still look cool – Sweaters

Ah, who doesn’t love a cosy sweater!? Perfect in the Autumn and perfect in the Winter!

This has to be one of my go-to items when the weather gets colder, there’s nothing better than oversized, snuggly sweaters!

Try teaming up your oversized sweater with ripped jeans and a long, layered necklace for a cool look! 🙂

Keep warm this fall and still look cool – Scarves

OK, so we might not be in winter just yet but a scarf can easily be worn over a t-shirt, jeans and light coat!

Pick a scarf with fall autumn colours and you’re good to go!

Keep warm this fall and still look cool – Blanket Scarves

Hahahaha – Oh no!

I forgot what this is called, you know them things you wear over your shoulders? I actually bought one last week and looks like an oversized scarf and blanket – blanket scarves or blarves! 😀

Maybe I’m having a blonde moment and they actually are blanket scarves…..Can anyone help me with this?

Click HERE to see what I mean!

Keep warm this fall and still look cool – Accessories

No matter the time of year, accessories ALWAYS look cool and I always recommend adding a few things to your outfit to make things work for you.

It’s not what you wear but how you wear it – see the picture above? Simple things like wrapping a belt around your coat will help to give you shape but also compliments your look.

Oversized bags can be carried like a clutch – much more practical too!

So here are a few of my fall / autumn picks which I think you’ll all love too – simply click the link to see the product page! 🙂

Oversized Coat

Check Cape

Handbag & Clutch (Set)

Textured Belt

You all know that I love hearing from you so please let me know what you think! What will you be getting for Fall / Autumn? 🙂

Fantastic written post, Layla! Love wrapping up myself when it gets colder. I have a weakness for coats and jackets so I can’t wait to create some layered looks with them… finally! Who loves rain? But I have to say my birthday is next month, so fall is ok! ;)) Tha blarves are perfect for the cold season, Layla! Gotta get a cape for my own! Excited about your look with it. <3

I need help! How do I wear office clothing and keep warm? My office has implemented a new dress code where no jeans are allowed *cry* and now I am dreading autumn because of that. How do you make work wear (tailored trousers, suit skirts, etc) work with boots and warmer clothing?

You could try sweaters under blazers which are layered over skirts and ankle boots or wedge heels look great with tailored trousers too! 🙂 xxx
