How to keep motivated with blogging
How To Keep Motivated With Blogging – Several years ago, blogging wasn’t considered as anything special, it was a hobby that attracted people to write about their lives, share their opinions and generally considered it as a little ‘escape’ from the real world.
Fast forward to 2015 and there’s millions of blogs out there with many people making a living out of what was essentially considered to be a hobby BUT it’s not as easy as it might seem as you constantly have to think of new topics and keep things fresh and fun for your readers so in this post, I’m sharing some tips on how to keep motivated with blogging.
How To Keep Motivated With Blogging – Topics
This depends on what you want to cover on your blog!
Sprinkles of Style originally started as a beauty blog, I wanted to share my opinion on different beauty products, feature the latest product launches and share make-up tips…..BUT after some of you lovely readers started asking for fashion posts, I jumped at the chance and after sharing one outfit post….things kinds just snowballed! 🙂
I now write about fashion which is my main topic, followed by beauty and because I love interior decoration and cake recipes – throw in a little bit of lifestyle too! 🙂
I personally think that you can write about anything that you want, you just have to find a balance between them all and ensure that your content is key for your readers!
How To Keep Motivated With Blogging – Bloggers Block
So, this is one of the worst things that can happen to you as a blogger – bloggers block!
When you blog full-time, your mind tends to work overtime as you always need to think about content and making sure it’s exciting, fresh and fun for your readers however there are many occasions when you can’t translate the thoughts in your head into a post.
The best thing that you can do is take a break – just go and make yourself a cup of coffee, browse online at other blogs or go out with your friends and family – by the time you get home or sit down at your desk again you should feel a lot better.
It’s all about finding the balance between blogging and taking time out for yourself – the key is to not overwork and enjoy yourself too! 🙂
How To Keep Motivated With Blogging – Your Office / Workspace
Another thing that helps me stay motivated with blogging is my office / workspace – keep your office/desk/workspace neat, clean and organized!
Think about it, when your desk / workspace is neat, tidy, clean and organised then your thoughts tend to be a lot clearer too. When your desk / workspace is a mess or cluttered then this can easily affect your thoughts making you feel muddled.
By adding a few colourful flowers, candles and even having a motivation board can boost your spirit and mood when it comes to blogging! 🙂
So, there we have some tips and tricks on how to keep motivated with blogging and as always I love reading through your comments so if you have any other advice or tips feel free to share them in the comments below! 🙂

I so agree with the clear desk thing! I tend to get overwhelmed and stressed out whenever my desk (and its surroundings) is a mess!

YES!!!! I’m a neat freak so everything is normally organised and looking pretty but times when I can’t keep on track very well it gets hectic and I want to cry hahahaha xxxx
Thanks for the advice. I’ve been blogging for a while, and realized that my life is not really interesting enough to share with people. So I’ve reverted my focus to curation of content from all over the web, with a sprinkling of my own life. This seems to work better for me, and helps keep fresh interesting content coming through.
Love this tips! Thank you for sharing Layla

Thank you so much!!! 🙂 xx
Bloggers block is real, and it usually comes from a blogger doing too much without taking a break. I t’s so important to take a break and get your creative juices flowing. You also have to blog with purpose, not just because you want to make money. Be passionate about it. I absolutely loved reading this.

That’s very true and it’s so frustrating but if you take some time out and relax then it really does help! Exactly – blogging should be done for the love of what you’re writing not to become famous or rich! 🙂 xxx
Definitely agree that taking a break can help to relieve bloggers block! Thanks for sharing these useful tips!

First of all: Awesome how far you’ve come, Layla! Congrats to that, cause your blog is fabulous like YOU! ;-* Totally understand your bloggers block!! I have to admit I have lots of inspiration and ideas for the blog but unfortunately not the time to make all that possible, so I write everything down in my good ol’ notebook and use the ideas when I have lots of time to work on those. And taking a break in between is really important to have the power for blogging in general… if we don’t have the energy for it NOW, we don’t gonna have it in couple of years at all, right?! ;)) Hug you, sweetheart!

I definitely agree that sometimes you just need to take a break. You’ll feel reenergized and ready to go when you’ve had a moment to clear your head and get out of work mode.

good tips! If I get bloggers’ block, I get a hot cup of coffee and browse through my Pinterest boards (style, food) or my Houzz (home decorating) app – although my blog isn’t as focused as others. Speaking of organizing, have you ready the book by Marie Kondo? I am more than a little obsessed with it right now, haha.
Ah thank you so much for your comment hun!! Yes – Pinterest is another good way to relax and browse through things!! I haven’t read that book no…..will check it out! 🙂 xxx
I think taking a break is the best advice. And don’t put pressure on yourself. I used to blog five times a week but as a working mum, it’s impossible to keep to that. I now blog two to three times a week – it’s quality not quantity! 🙂

Exactly, I think that really does help – a little break every now and then is great and it just helps you to reset! 🙂 xxx
This is such a beautiful post and sure will be helpful. As a new blogger I must say before I start blogging, I didn’t know it was that hard but now I can definitely say it requires a lot of effort and brainstorming haha 🙂 xx
