How To Stick To Your 2019 Goals
Written By: Sprinkles of Style
That's right! Love them or hate them, New Year’s resolutions are something we all succumb to every once in a while however, we think they’re quite important.
After all, there’s nothing more motivating than the thought of having a whole year to achieve those things you’ve put off for too long. Sadly, according to studies, 80% of us will have failed in our resolutions already!
So if you are starting to waver, here are some top tips on how to reinvigorate your passion for those 2019 goals.
Give Yourself Plenty of Inspiration
We think that one of the hardest things about keeping goals is losing motivation for them. At the start, you feel excited about reaching your target, but then as you start to get to the nitty-gritty, it can become quite difficult.
If you don’t feel as though you’re getting to where you want to be – and fast – you can really start to get downhearted. You may even give up.
But don’t.
Renew your excitement for this goal by constantly inspiring yourself. For example, if you want to buy a new car but are having to save up to get one – keep browsing online sites like FoW to inspire your next car purchase. Seeing what is just within your reach will really kick start your saving again.
Set Daily Goals
Another hugely difficult aspect in reaching targets is the fact they can be a long way off. So as well as this end goal, set yourself smaller ones that will help you get there. Even the smallest of things, like sending an email, can help you feel as though you’re one step closer to your target.
Essentially, this is all about making your goals part of your day-to-day routine. By doing this, it’ll make everything become more of a ‘habit’ so you don’t have to force yourself into doing something.
This is especially true if you’ve just started a new exercise regime. To begin with, heading to the gym after work can be a huge task, but once you get used to it, it simply forms part of your everyday life.
Enlist the Help of Your Friends and Family
Finally, don’t go at this goal-achieving business completely alone. Try to enlist the help of your loved ones to get you to where you want to be.
For example, if you’re trying to save money – make sure they know.
That way, you can arrange to have meals at each other’s houses instead of going out to a restaurant.
Or, if you’re trying to get fit, having a fitness buddy can really motivate you because if you don’t attend that gym class, you’re not just letting yourself down, you’re letting them down too.
Hopefully, all of the above will help reignite those passions you had when you were setting your goals for the year ahead!
If you're struggling with your New Year's resolutions - we hope that this will give you a little bit of motivation to keep you going. By making little changes here and there, you can keep up with all the goals which you've set yourself!
