From Cold To Cosy – Enjoying The Ice
It's time to consider new locations for your next trip and below, we have a selection of beautiful places to visit.
Hey! It's the Sprinkles of Style team and in this post we're showing you how to embrace the cold season by visiting these beautiful countries.
When considering a holiday location, most people will think about tropical beaches and sunny skies however there are some beautiful places to visit despite the ice and some which people consider the most beautiful landscapes too.
Most people's bucket lists are filled with things that they want to see around the world - how about the Northern Lights? Think about this - snow-topped mountains whilst you're relaxing by a fireplace.... pure bliss.
Some Places To Visit
Norway
If the idea of the Northern Lights got you excited at all, the best place for you could be Norway.
This small Scandinavian country is home to coastal fjords, mountains, and glaciers in its countryside, creating an atmosphere you’ll find nowhere else.
The cities and towns are filled with beautiful, green open spaces, and the quality of life is very high here too - Norway is famous for its unique and stunning architecture.
New Zealand
Home to Lord of the Rings, along with The Hobbit, this area is filled with beautiful landscapes and scenic areas which are very hard to miss.
Like Norway, New Zealand is well-known for its glaciers. Of course, though, in a country like this, a helicopter is your best travel option.
Scotland
You don’t always have to travel halfway across the world to have an experience with extreme weather.
Scotland has a climate as cold as it’s positioning would suggest, with heavy snowfall during winter, and some areas covered with ice all year round.
Along with the cold, there are loads of things to do in Edinburgh, and it’s neighbouring cities.
From cultural and historical sites to modern malls, Scotland has it all.
What To Wear
When you're going somewhere cold - you need to be thinking about garments and accessories which will keep you warm on the go.
Think if you're going to be staying in your hotel and simply admiring the beautiful views or if you're going to be active and really checking out the beautiful outdoors.
Hopefully, this post will inspire you to start looking into the idea of taking the sun out of your vacation, opting for winter’s chill, instead.
Not a lot of people consider this as their ideal break. But, of course, with just a little bit of work, you could alter your perceptions entirely, taking a trip you’ll never ever forget.

Ah thank you – it really looks beautiful and perfect to visit this time of year too! 🙂 x
What a great list! Dan and I actually just visited Scotland last week. It was pretty cold but since we came prepared with big jackets and layers, it wasn’t bad at all. We had an amazing time. New Zealand and Norway are high on our travel bucket list too. Maybe next time!
