As a lot of you know, Pixi is a brand that I admire – even before using their products, I was always intrigued by the brand, the formulations and their approach of providing us with skincare and makeup products that work with your skin.
I have kindly been sent some lovely products which I think are perfect for this time of year. Even though right now, it’s raining outside – the weather has started to improve with the sun making an appearance and more of us seem to be reaching for colour.
Pixi – Midsummer Festival
What I love about the brand is the personal touch which comes through from Petra (Pixi’s Founder) and with press items that I’m kindly sent, there’s always a note of some sort.
In this press kit, you can see the focus being “Midsummer Festival” with Petra explaing: “When I grew up in Sweden, Midsummer is a summer festival to enjoy the longest day of the year. I’d pick flowers while enjoying the magic of family and friends.“
Continuing: :….in the Pixi-house, it starts with an all-day lunch, followed by games, music, singing, dancing and ending with a midnight swim. This year, I would like to share some essentials so that you can be Midsummer ready!“
As I look through the kit and products, this really is a great go-to if you’re looking to go to festivals (of some sort) this summer. You have everything you need from skincare and makeup to make sure you’re looking great – whilst your skin is being looked after.
Pixi Skintreats – Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths
I’m not a big fan of makeup wipes, I don’t like the feeling of how my skin feels after use however – I did try these (I try all products before writing about them) and they didn’t leave my skin feeling ‘tacky’. In fact, I was surprised at how fresh my skin felt.
Whilst I wouldn’t recommend makeup wipes as an essential for your beauty bag, these are great for festivals or travelling when you want to freshen up your skin.
Including ingredients like Chamomile and Rose – these are soothing ingredients.
Compared to other makeup wipes on the market, these are not harsh, they don’t irritate the skin and the formulation really does “melt” makeup off the skin for a fresh feeling.
Pixi Skintreats – H20 Skindrink
A new favourite product for me! This is something which I now consider to be an essential in my skincare routine – all year round and especially during the summer months as I keep this in the fridge.
The Pixi Skintreats H20 Skintreat is a lightweight gel formulation which is a cooling formula with encapsulated water to instantly hydrate, cool, freshen and stimulate the complexion.
Includes ingredients such as:
- Aloe Vera – A healing, cooling and soothing ingredient which also helps to plump and hydrate skin.
- Green Tea – Known for it’s soothing and calming properties.
- Rosemary – Helping to protect and heal the skin.
This is a paraben free formula which has been specially developed to be suitable for ALL skin types. If I could only recommend one product from the whole article, it would be this product.
A wonder product for your beauty bag and skincare products – all year round. This will make your skin feel hydrated and looked after whilst also being protected.
Tip: As briefly mentioned above, keep this in the fridge for an extra cooling sensation. Perfect after a long day and especially in the summer months.
Pixi Glitter-Eye Quad – Eyeshadow
If you’re looking for a pop of colour for your eye makeup – look no further! With the Pixi Glitter Eye Quad, you get colour AND Glitter!
I love glitter eyeshadows in the spring / summer months as I think you can get really creative with your makeup looks and you can really play around with looks and even compliment your outfits.
If you’re not one to wear too much colour on your eyes – try the following!
- Colourful Eyeliner – Instead of lining your upper lash line with a black or brown eyeliner. Use the glitter quad instead. Take an eyeliner brush (thin bristles) to line your upper lashline. For extra pigment, wet the brush and dip into the eyeshadow to line your lashline.
- Bold Smokey Eye – Instead of just using traditional colours like brown and black, add a touch of colour to the look too.
Silver Glitter – Will make all eye colours richer and sparklier.
White Glitter – Will brighter all eye colours and add can also be used on the inner corners of the eyes.
Turquoise Glitter – Makes each eye colour ‘pop’. Green brings out the warmth in eye colours.
Blue Glitter – Makes eye colours richer and darker.
Pixi Lip Lift Max – Glossy Lipgloss
Take a look at this lovely product by Pixi, this is a lip lift lipgloss which is peptide infused for nourishment and plumping.
The shade is called: Peony Bloom – a universally flattering shade which is a beautiful soft pink colour. Perfect when worn alone and lovely with a smokey eye.
Personally, I love this with a brown smokey eye (not black) – as I find that the pink and brown shades work beautifully together to compliment each other.
A beautiful formula with some of the key ingredients listed below – it’s also got a lovely, fresh mint flavour.
- Aloe – Nourishing and Hydrating
- Jojoba – Moisturises and protects
- Chamomile – Soothing
- Paraben Free
- Fresh Mint Flavour
Overall, I am very impressed with the products I test from Pixi and they’re products that I find myself using time and time again – adding different products to my makeup bag and skincare routine.
Their Pixi Glow Lotion is a staple product in my skincare collection – I use this several times a week and love how my skin looks and feels when I use it. (Take a look at this Pixi Beauty Post)
The Pixi Skintreats H20 Skindrink Gel is a product that I am in love with – ultra soothing, cooling and hydrating. I recommend this product to everyone and feel that you’ll benefit from adding this product to your skincare routine.
