Hey! It's the Sprinkles of Style team and we're back with a new post sharing our tips on how to make your kitchen the best room in the house.

We all know that the kitchen is considered to be the heart of the home as this is where people come together, it's where we cook and this tends to be the place that we host our families and friends.

Of course this means that your kitchen should always be a warm, inviting and friendly place to be in.

Even if your kitchen is small - there are some amazing ways in which you can spruce up the room and make it feel new and lovely again.

One thing that we all love is natural light - especially in the kitchen and as you can see in the image above, natural light, spotlights and delicate lighting in the kitchen give the room a luxurious feel.

Remove any dark / chunky blinds and replace them with delicate blinds in lighter shades to allow as much light in as possible - this will immediately make the room look bigger and of course make the room  feel bright, airy and inviting.

Fresh Flowers

One thing all of us at Sprinkles of Style love (especially Layla) is fresh flowers. If you ever feel like there's something missing from one of the rooms in your home, add a beautiful vase in the centre of a table or island which will instantly brighten up the room and add that touch of colour too.

Herbs

Have you considered growing your own herbs? Take the time and invest in a cute herb garden which could sit on the windowsill or a shelf near the window - meaning you can grow your favourite herbs from the comfort of your home.

Sinks & Taps

One thing a lot of people don't consider is upgrading the taps / sinks in the kitchen - believe it or not, this can make a huge difference to how the whole room looks so why not invest in a new sink or mixer taps which will make a surprising difference.

Pans

Instead of hiding your pans in the kitchen cupboard, invest in some lovely copper pans which you can turn into a 'feature' by hanging them above an island  or against the wall which will add a lovely cosy feel to the room.

Shelves

If you have a blank space or wall in the kitchen - think about adding shelves to the space which will give you that extra storage yet look lovely.

Display some of your favourite mugs, small plants or even cookbooks which will all add a new element and design to the room.

Backsplash

We all know that cooking can sometimes turn messy - instead of having to wipe down the wall every time, opt for a backsplash which will allow you to keep the kitchen clean yet you can opt for a brighter colour depending on your style.

There's so much variety nowadays ranging from glass to tiled and beautiful designs too.

Plate Decor

Don't worry - we're not talking about old-style plate decor!

Now, interior designers all around the world are creating feature walls in the kitchen by using plates - some with different designs but you can keep things simple by choosing plates in your desired colour theme whilst opting for some brighter / pastel shades too.

Wall Art

Have you ever looked on Easy and seem of the funny  vegetable pun art that they have?

If you're keeping the kitchen minimal or choosing simple colours such as white / cream then you can make use of bright pieces and hang them up in the room - instead of the plate decor.

Glass Jars

Mason Jars and Kilner Jars are really useful to have in the kitchen - you can use them to store dried fruit, flour, sugar, pasta and even your tea and coffee.

Coming in all shapes and sizes, these are perfect for adding a unique touch to the kitchen - think about painting them and labelling them up. They'll look cute in the pantry and will really make a fun feature in your home.
