Brushes For Foundation
Before I go into all the detail I just want to add that these brushes I’ll be talking about are wonderful for applying liquid foundation. Powder foundation will be in another post along with some tips and tricks! 🙂
Over the past few weeks I’ve received a lot of emails from you asking for advice on different make-up products, brushes and one that keeps popping up is how to apply foundation so I thought a good way to start would be on the brushes I use for liquid foundation.
Brushes For Foundation
For some reason we get taught to apply our foundation with a normal foundation brush, in the pictures above it’s the one that looks like a paint brush.
I haven’t and never will understand why – it doesn’t blend foundation into the skin, it just leaves you looking like you’ve painted your face and that’s definitely not a look to go for.
I only use the foundation brush for dotting foundation onto my skin – that’s it!
The brush I use to blend my foundation is the flat-top brush as seen in the pictures above – sent to me by Nanshy.
I stipple and buff the foundation onto my skin (after applying primer) for a lovely, smooth look.
[pullquote width=”300″ float=”left”]Buffing your foundation onto your skin just blends it so much better![/pullquote]
By stippling and buffing your foundation onto your skin it just blends so much better, by working your make-up into your skin like this you’ll also find it lasts a lot longer during the day.
Buffing is the main thing to do, by buffing your foundation onto your skin it gives you a lovely, smooth look and instantly makes your skin look healthier which in turn will make all your make-up look great.
A great base gives you a great face! 🙂
