Aquascutum Trench Coat Wishlist

Aquascutum Trench Coat Wishlist
Hey, hey! Hope you’re all well after the glorious weekend we had – talk about sunshine! It was absolutely beautiful!
Sadly, the same can’t really be said for today – it’s not as warm and there’s not much sunshine, asI’m looking out of my office window, in fact – I can see lots of clouds. 🙁
To cheer you (and myself) up – I’ve put together a little wish list featuring some beautiful trench coats from Aquascutum London!
Aquascutum London
Here’s a little bit about the brand.
Aquascutum London was set up by John Emary and began as a Mayfair tailors way back in 1851.
From the very beginning, the brand was all about developing and maintaining the finest craftsmanship and technical innovation.
Two years after opening, John Emary created (and patented) the very first waterproof textile.
Further developing the iconic trench coat in 1914 – this was used by the British Military during World Wars 1 and 2 – gaining wide recognition from soldiers on the front line due to the newly-created waterproof properties.
Continuing with maintaining the wonderful quality and craftsmanship – in 1953, the brand then saw the development of Wyncol Fabric which was used by the explorer, Edmund Hilary and his team during their first ascent of Mount Everest.
The high-tech cotton and nylon poplin mix was able to resist winds of up to 100MPH and the brand then used this material to manufacture outerwear for sale in-store.
Aquascutum when translated is ‘Water Shield‘ in Latin and this is where the brand’s name came from – how cool is that!?!?

So, you’re sat there thinking – why have you chosen trench coats?
Apart from the fact that they’re durable and effortlessly-chic – I personally think that they’re perfect for this time of year when it’s not too cold and not too warm either.
You can easily layer them by wearing a light sweater or t-shirt underneath – I tend to opt for trench coats that are belted or fitted around the waist to add more shape but they’re just perfect for everyday! 🙂
I have a few trench coats, some of which you’ve seen on here!
Two long-length trench coats – a grey one and a dark beige one, along with a shorter length one which is a light beige.
There’s something elegant about trench-coats that I just love – they’re easy to wear and I love the fact that Aquascutum have got a few coloured ones too!
It makes things so much more fun and adds a pop of colour to your outfit if you like wearing all black. 🙂

I’m a huge fan of trench coats all year round really, a nice neutral one and I’m pretty much set. I actually had a great neutral trench coat but then it shrunk at the dry cleaners! Argh, so frustrating- now I’m on the lookout for a new nice one 🙂
