Summer Makeup Essentials
Summer Makeup Essentials – So, I’m sat at my desk and looking out the window, gorgeous blue skies and glorious sunshine but that’s where summer stops for us in the UK. I’m actually wearing a light jumper as it’s cool today but this weather won’t stop me from sharing my summer essentials!!! 🙂
If you’re jetting off to a lovely location you don’t want to be carrying too much makeup or taking too many products – it’s a great time for your skin to breathe, relax and recharge for the winter months ahead.
Summer Makeup Essentials – Primer
Im very fussy with primers and have seen that with me they either work, or they don’t…..there’s no in between!
I tend to go for primers that feel silky on the skin and the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer is one of my favourites!
It’s a creamy primer but feels like a whipped mousse – it blends onto your skin like butter and instantly gives your skin a matte appearance making this a must-have for summer skin!
Summer Makeup Essentials – Foundation
If you can, avoid foundation completely in the summer!
If you can’t avoid it, try adding 1-2 drops of foundation into your moisturiser – this will give your skin a really gorgeous glow and provide little coverage too.
When you go to the beach all you need is a good moisturiser (with SPF) to give your skin the chance to rejuvenate…..you’ll get such a beautiful glow from not wearing makeup!
My favourite (lightweight) foundation is the Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation as it’s lovely on the skin and looks very, very natural. Full review is coming soon! 🙂
Summer Makeup Essentials – Eyeshadow
Palettes! I love my palettes when it comes to eyeshadows as you get to take away lots of gorgeous colours but only one item….talk about saving space!
One of my go-to palettes is the Makeup Revolution Iconic Dreams Palette but that’s quickly being replaced by the Makeup Revolution Affirmation Palette and you can see my review here.
Summer Makeup Essentials – Mascara
My absolute favourite mascara is the YSL Faux Cils Effet Mascara – Black !!!
I’ve tried so many mascaras and only one seems to come close to this which is the Max Factor Glamour Extensions Mascara but that’s still a close second….
I just love how long, thick and dark my lashes look and thats how they stay from morning till night – I have a full review on this coming soon too! 🙂
Summer Makeup Essentials – Bronzer
In the summer I don’t use blush, I tend to use bronzers more and even though I tan in the summer it still gives my skin a gorgeous glow.
My favourite bronzer this summer has to be the Kiko Block Bronzer which is absolutely gorgeous – it’s a baked marble bronzer which defines cheekbones and gives your skin a beautiful glow. This can also be used on your neck, chest, arms and legs (if you want)….
Summer Makeup Essentials – Lipstick
This is just a little extra as again I don’t wear too much makeup in the summer especially when I’m in a hot country BUT if you’re looking to wear just mascara you can team it up with a lovely bright lip colour like this Makeup Revolution Lip Geek Lipstick in colour Candy Rock.
Summer Makeup Essentials – Powder
Again, an added extra if you don’t want to ditch the powder try using a lightweight powder that WON’T block your pores.
I like this Tarte Pressed Powder which contains Amazonian Clay to give your skin a lovely appearance – full review of this can be seen here!
Summer Makeup Essentials – Brushes
I have such a variety of brushes but ones that I keep coming back to are my Nanshy Brushes – they’re better than MAC brushes in my opinion, a lot softer and they last really well too. Wash them every week and they still look and feel new!
I also like my Studio Makeup Brush which I use for applying powder and/or bronzer all over my face, neck and chest!
Keeping up with the summer theme you can also see my NEW video where I’m showing you how to create a lovely summer smokey eye (with a twist) – please make sure you subscribe to my channel too to make sure you’re up to date with all the videos.
I’ll also be doing voice overs in the new makeup tutorials just to give you that extra bit of help when creating the looks and I’ll be posting videos onto my youtube channel at least once a week so please make sure you subscribe to keep up to date!
I’ll also be filming look books and Vlogs too which should make things interesting so if there’s something that you want to see just let me know in the comments below, email me, tweet me or comment in the video and I’ll see it! 🙂
Let me know what you all think – I can’t wait to read your comments!
