Revlon Color Burst Lip Balm

Revlon Color Burst Lip Balm* £7.99
Revlon Color Burst Lip Balm and bloggers go hand in hand, everywhere you look, bloglovin, blogger, twitter…there’s someone mentioning and writing about them on their blog and recently I was sent a couple of colours to test and feature on here!
Revlon’s Color Burst Lip Balm range started off quite small with several colours and has now expanded to quite a large range consisting of gloss, matte and shimmers….I’m loving the colours and there’s such a variety so there is something for everyone!
Revlon Colour Burst Texture
The texture of the Revlon Color Burst Lip Balms is lovely and quite nourishing, you don’t need to use a lot of the product as the pigments are quite rich as you can see with ‘Standout’
They don’t look like a balm, they look like lip crayons however when applied they do feel like a balm and keep lips soft and smooth.
Revlon Color Burst Lasting
The lasting power of these isn’t brilliant, after a cup of coffee it does fade and if you’re wearing a light colour like ‘Demure’ it pretty much disappears however ‘Standout’ fades into a more stain type colour.
Revlon Color Burst Laquer VS Matte
Revlon Color Burst Laquer Balm – Colour: Demure
The laquer balm is the glossy version and demure is an absolutely beautiful colour. It’s a very delicate pink and has a slight shimmer running through.
When I sport a smoky eye I want to keep the focus on my eyes but I will always wear a subtle colour on my lips just to bring the look together.
Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm – Colour: Standout
The matte balms are obviously matte, not laquer (glossy). Standout is another gorgeous colour which is quite rich and it has it’s name for a reason…it’s quite a ‘standout’ colour.
I team this colour up with simple eyeliner – simple eyeliner + red lip = 50’s glamour….or so I’d like to think 😀
Overall thoughts
I love both colours and think Revlon’s variety in colours are really cool!
If you’re a person that wants to apply a colour and not have to worry about it throughout the day then this isn’t for you as after a cup of coffee you’ll need to re-apply however if you don’t mind, just pop the lip balm/stick in your bag and apply as needed!
So all you lovely people, let me know what you think…bloggers have you tried them?
Let me know!!!

Oh the colours look so nice! x
The colours are lovely and I love the difference in matte and gloss…the matte has a stain effect which is nice! 🙂 xxx
Lovely detailed review, Layla 🙂
I really want to try the matte ones, they look gorgeous!
Jess xo
Aww thank you for your comment Jess!! 🙂
The matte one is surprisingly nice and I like that the specific shade has a stain look to it so when most of it goes there’s still a little colour left!! 🙂 xxx
What a gorgeous post darling! The colours look so nice
Aww thank you Penelope! The colours are really pretty yes and they’re both so different which is nice! 🙂 xxx

The colours look awesome and I like how the red becomes more of a stain…thats nice to know at least you have some colour x
Yes the red (Standout) is a really nice colour and it’s nice how it becomes a stain so you do have some colour for the rest of the day if you don’t want to re-apply! 🙂 xx
Thank you for this wonderful post again Layla, there’s so much detail and the colours looks really beautiful. 🙂
Thank you Kristina, I do try and provide as much detail as possible! 🙂 xxx
