How To Use A Derma Roller

One of the most asked questions in the beauty world: “How To Use A Derma Roller” – they’re beneficial for your skin but only when they’re used correctly.

I’ll be giving you ALL the details you need to know about derma rollers, how they work and how they can benefit your skin – along with advice, tips and guidance.

These are the items that I’ll be using in this post to show you how derma rollers work along with products to use after the process – all to give you beautiful skin!

A Derma Roller System is a product that renews your skin cells – from the inside out by using something called Collagen Induction Therapy.

In effect, the derma roller triggers the natural healing process of your body by healing the temporarily opened pores.

Stimulating the skin along with boosting elasticity and collagen production.

Derma Roller Sizing Options – How To Use A Derma Roller

The product that I’m writing about is the Derma Roller System which is an award-winning item!

If you’ve been looking for derma rollers online, you will have noticed that there’s different sizing options – used on the face and different parts of the body.

I tend to use the smallest option (0.5mm) as I use this only on my face.

Below, take a look at what I would recommend for other parts of your body.

Neck – 0.5mm
I would use the smallest option as the neck area is extremely delicate however I would use two separate derma rollers. One for my face, one for my neck.

Chest – 1.0mm or 1.5mm
Your chest or decollate is a larger area and not as delicate as your neck. I would suggest using the 1.0mm or 1.5mm as this will help with any stretch marks, scars and give skin a smoother appearance.

Back – 1.0mm, 1.5mm or 2.0mm
Perfect for those who are suffering with scarring or dark spots coming from back acne. Helping to reduce the appearance of scarring, brightening the skin and overall giving skin a smoother, healthier appearance whilst combating against skin problems.

Even though the needles are all gamma-sterilized stainless steel, I much prefer using separate derma rollers for different parts of the body.

I wouldn’t recommend using the same for your face and chest – just keep things clean and simple.

Using The Derma Roller System – How To Use A Derma Roller

My Derma Roller System is the smallest of the bunch at 0.5mm meaning that I can use this up to five times per week.

I don’t use this five times a week, for me I feel once a week or once every two weeks is enough depending on how my skin is behaving.

Always, always, always use this on cleansed skin. Thoroughly cleansed skin – yep, really cleansed skin!

You don’t want any kind of makeup or bacteria going into your skin so I recommend using this after showing where you skin is fresh and more likely to absorb products better.

I feel like this works for me so after showering, delicately roll the derma roller over your face – avoiding the eye and lip area.

Follow up with a serum – I use the serum that came with this derma roller (more details below) which contains Vitamin C, Vitamin E and leaves skin feeling fresh.

You’ve used your Derma Roller System but now what? What do you use after using a derma roller?

At the moment, I’m using the product that came with the derma roller itself, it’s called the Derma C+ Serum.

This is a powerful anti-ageing serum highly concentrated with vitamin C (creates elastin and collagen) and vitamin E (antioxidant and moisturiser) to minimize the appearance of deep wrinkles and reduce the look of age spots and discolouration.
