Essential Winter Skincare Products
Essential Winter Skincare Products
Seeing as the weather here in the UK is now extremely cold with some places reaching -5 (and less) I thought it would be a good time to write up a post about some of my essential winter skincare products.
Essential Winter Skincare – Products
It’s essential that we take care of our skin no matter the season but during the colder months I tend to reach for hydrating products, never ones that are too heavy for my skin as it’ll cause me to breakout so I’ll always try to balance things.
A rich cleanser with a lightweight oil-free moisturiser or a refreshing cleanser with a hydrating moisturiser.
Below you’ll find a list with some of my personal favourites to use during the winter months to keep my skin in check!
Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Face Balm – £20.00
This isn’t a cleanser that I use all year round as it’s far too heavy for my skin.
I only use this as a ‘treatment’ as I find it helps to hydrate and slightly exfoliates skin for a smoother appearance – 2 times a week is enough for me but if you suffer with very dry skin then you’ll love using this as your cleanser!
Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil – £32.00
This IS a go-to product for me and if it’s possible I love this more after each use!
After cleansing your skin apply 2-3 drops onto the palm of your hands and dab it onto your face and neck.
I PROMISE this will leave your skin feeling silky soft and also helps to balance oil levels!
Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster – £18.00
Ok, so this isn’t an ‘essential’ but it could be – who doesn’t want a healthy, luminous glow all year round?
Apply your night cream in the palm of your hands, add 3-4 drops onto your night cream, mix and apply onto your face and neck, in the morning you’ll notice your skin will have a lovely, healthy glow.
Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant – £26.00
Pricey – yes but this does the job – This is my personal wonder-product and can be used for SO many things and is commonly used by make-up artists too…see a list of reasons to use it below 🙂
– Soothes dry, chapped skin
– Can be used on cuticles
– Can be used as a lip balm
– Used to add a healthy ‘shine’ to eyebrows and also holds them in place
– Use on cheekbones as a natural highlighter
The list carries on but you only need such a little amount of this as it goes a VERY long way – review coming soon 🙂
Soap & Glory Smooch Operator Lip Balm – £5.00
This is great to use during the day, alone or under lipstick.
It contains beeswax so it won’t sink into your skin right away, instead it’ll just sit on top of the skin and create a ‘barrier’ to protect from the harsh cold weather.
The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter – £13.00
A lovely, hydrating body butter which leaves skin feeling soft and smooth – it smells of satsuma and even though it’s fresh you get that sweetness coming through which makes this a gorgeous product all year round!
Yankee Candle – Black Cherry
Ok, this is just a random addition to the post – for those of you who know me will know that I LOVE my yankee candles…they smell great and last for absolutely ages!
I mean black cherry – just yum! 🙂
So, there you have my ‘essential’ winter skincare products that I like to use….let me know what you think and what are the products you use or would recommend? 🙂
I can’t survive without 8-hour cream, especially in winter!

It’s a great product! 🙂 xxx
I love the Balance Me cleanser. Leaves my skin so soft and moisturised. The Body Shop body butters are also amazing. I got the glazed apple one just before Christmas and I’m in love. xx

It’s a really lovely cleanser yes but it’s too heavy for my skin so I use it more like a treatment! 🙂 The body shop butters are beautiful – I agree completely!!! I didn’t manage to try the glazed apple!!! 🙁 xxxx
Love the black cherry candle, and the body shop body butters are the best in my opinion 🙂 xx

Awesome post! Those are some really great products, tho I find the Body Shop’s Body Butter to be too greasy after application, but maybe that’s just me 🙂 either way thanks for the tips!

Thank you so much!!! I appreciate your comment, I do know what you mean yes – I find it depending on the ingredients used! The satsuma is actually light on the skin whereas the coconut is a lot heavier! 🙂 xxx

Ah, you’ll love it if your skin is dry – if it’s combination then I would say use it as a treatment once a week! 🙂 xxx
