Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Perfect Beige 04 *

Ah, Essence, it’s Europe’s biggest beauty brand and one of the most loved by us beauty bloggers and it’s easy to see why!

Affordable prices, plenty of colours to choose from and so much variety on offer!

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Packaging

Essence has some really lovely products and the packaging for their powders and eyeshadows is quite similar but overall it’s really lovely, neat and has a simplistic feel which I really, really like.

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Colour

Perfect Beige is the colour I’m reviewing and considering that my skin tone is olive/tanned this actually works perfectly for me.

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Texture

As you can see in the pictures above, this is a pressed powder but when applied it’s like a loose powder, lightweight and quite lovely on the skin.

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – How to use

In the summer I tend to use lightweight make-up so I opt for BB creams and mineral foundation – lightly dusting my face for even coverage. Once applied I then use the compact powder and just go over my nose, forehead and chin which just sets the make-up in place and helps to control any shine.

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Overall

I really like this, I don’t use it all over my face and I wouldn’t use this as a replacement to my mineral foundation, I don’t think there’s enough coverage but when using it as a powder on the typical ‘shine’ spots it works just fine.

Essence Mattifying Compact Powder – Purchase

Essence has now launched in the UK and you find this and other products from the brand from Wilkos stores nationwide!

Let me know what you think if you’ve tried this or if it’s something on your list!

Layla xx

Even though I’m not a fan of powders (I prefer the trend of glowy skin, it looks more natural and healthier!), sometimes I need to set my make up, especially in the summer! So, if it’s a lightweight powder, I should try it out! Which BB Cream do you prefer? 😀

I know what you mean, I prefer the dewy skin look too but this is so lightweight and lovely that it really works on skin – it doesn’t make it too matte….just right! Yes in the summer this is perfect as it’s lightweight!

In regards to BB creams I really like The Body Shop one – I’ve reviewed it online and that’s perfect as it adapts to your skin tone for a lovely healthy glow! 🙂 xxx
