Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser – Writing a beauty and fashion blog means that I get to work with a variety of amazing brands and it’s no secret that I’m a fan of Clarins – they’re one of the first brands that I worked with thanks to the blog and over the past year I’ve been lucky enough to work with them on several occasions!
In this post I’ll be writing about the Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser (with orange extract) which really caught my attention when I first heard about it but haven’t gotten round to reviewing it – until now!
Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser – Packaging
Clarins is a brand that is known for their sleek, neat and simplistic approach when it comes to their packaging and I admire them for it.
I personally think that it shows a brand is putting a lot more effort into the actual product and formula rather than just capturing your attention.
(Don’t get me wrong, I still love bright, cheerful and colourful packaging but it’s nice to see a variety!)
It’s a clear bottle allowing you to see the product and as you can see in the pictures below, half the product is oil-based and the other half is a liquid. It’s a really pretty pastel orange which I think is super pretty too! 🙂
Clarins One step Facial Cleanser – Texture
Again, it’s weird to talk about a liquid cleanser’s texture but I do have my reasons for this!
Give the bottle a little mix before applying the liquid onto a cotton pad – this blends the ingredients, liquid and oil together.
When you apply this onto your skin it’ll feel VERY fresh and revitalising however you’ll notice that it doesn’t dry quickly – you’re left with a silky oil-like ‘barrier‘ which does get absorbed by your skin in about 10 minutes after applying (quicker if you suffer with dry skin) but I quite like using this as an overnight treatment and immediately apply my night cream to ‘lock’ in all the wonderful ingredients.
Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser – How To Use
I have two different routines when using this – they’re similar but one way just takes a little more time as it’s a ‘pampering‘ version.
Routine 1 (For the no-fuss people)
– Apply onto a cotton pad and wipe over face and neck to remove dirt and make-up.
– Repeat this twice to ensure all makeup has been removed – can be used on eyes to remove mascara….just hold cotton pad over eyes for a few seconds and gently wipe.
– Follow up with a refreshing toner.
– Apply your moisturiser / night cream / serum.
Routine 2 (For the pamper people – like me)
– Cleanse skin with your favourite gentle face wash.
– Place a warm flannel on your skin to open up pores.
– Apply Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser onto cotton pad and wipe over face and neck.
– Follow up with a nourishing moisturiser / serum / night cream.
This is the routine I normally go for every evening! I personally think that there’s nothing better than cleansing and pampering your skin after a long day – the fresh, luxurious scents and clean-skin feeling is wonderful.
Routine 1 is for when I get home in the early hours of the morning and only have a few hours sleep before getting up and going off to meetings…. even then – I’ll still try to cleanse my skin thoroughly! 🙂
Tip – In the summer run a cotton pad under cold water and rinse any excess water – apply a little bit of the facial cleanser and wipe onto face and neck to refresh your skin.
Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser – Scent
Clarins – I love you!
This smells absolutely beautiful, you get the freshness from the orange extract but with the blend of the other ingredients you also have a lovely sweetness which just comes through – the best way to describe this would be orange blossom…..think orange and floral!
Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser – Overall
I really recommend this product!
Whether you’re someone who wants a fuss-free product or someone who prefers pampering their skin – it’s ideal for both and can be added to your routine and used the way that best suits you.
It’s a product that’s wonderful to use all year round as it nourishes, hydrates, soothes and revitalises your skin so this is a must-have for me in summer and winter!
