5 Packing and Travel Tips For The Fashion Lover
For those of us in the UK, we may still be in lockdown (despite things being eased) however there’s no better time to express your sense of style than when you go travelling.
Whilst we’re not packing our bags just yet, travelling is one of the best ways to experience new styles, places and also gives you the chance to explore new cities – whilst experimenting and showcasing your style too.
Before jumping on a plane or organising a road trip, take a look at these tips and tricks that you may want to consider before leaving. Even if you’re not going to travel this year – these tips will help you with your summer wardrobe and making the most of your staycation.
1. Set Up Your Virtual P.O. Box
If you know that you’re going to be travelling for a significant period of time, one thing that you may want to consider is setting up a virtual P.O. Box. – especially if you work online as a blogger.
This is a service which allows your mail to be sent to you virtually so you’ll never miss important mails. A great way for keeping up to date with everything and especially important if you’re a fashion or beauty blogger who receives messages and emails from fashion companies, beauty brands and PR companies.
Now, a lot of you may be wondering, “how do I get an online P.O. Box?” Well, all you need to do is visit the Physical Address webpage (linked) for more information.
2. Coordinate Your Outfit
When travelling, your outfit should of course be comfortable but if you’re one to make a statement with your outfits then you may want to plan ahead before reaching your destination. Take some time out the day before travelling and plan your outfit – browse inspiration pages online and have fun!
Think about the looks you want to wear and how you’ll style them. Look through your wardrobe and accessories and put outfits together – this will also save you time when travelling too. 🙂
3. Don’t Pack Too Many Shoes
When travelling, I always make a mistake of packing too much – I really mean too much! And that’s not just fashion – it’s my beauty products too.
I love shoes but as mentioned above, if you plan ahead you can reduce the amount of shoes you pack for your travels.
If you’re struggling, think about packing 3 pairs of shoes. Take a look at the examples below.
A comfortable pair of sneakers. These will be your go-to shoes, the shoes which you’ll wear for your day-to-day exploring and walking around the location you’re in. Sneakers are extremely comfortable and with so many brands developing their range, they’re perfect for fashionistas too!
Heeled Sandals are lovely. They’re my favourite and can bring an outfit to a new level. I love heeled sandals with maxi dresses and they’re great for evening walks by the beach or to the restaurant.
Flat Sandals are another favourite of mine and one of my go-to’s. I love flat or slightly heeled sandals with gemstones or embellishments as they look great and add a touch of sparkle to your outfit.
4. Pack Around a Colour Scheme
This is something to consider if you don’t know where to start with your outfits.
If you’re not entirely sure about your outfits or colouring – just choose your favourite clothes and opt for colour co-ordinated outfits. For example, pick some base colours like black, white and navy and add pops of colour which you can mix and match.
Black and White look great with all colours so if you add a red vest top, choose a red accessory such as a bangle or a black statement necklace to bring the look together.
This will give you a colour coordinated outfit every time and by doing this, you should be able to pack lighter.
5. Include some signature accessories
Signature accessories are the key and just like mentioned above, they can bring a look together in an effortless way.
Whether it’s a handbag , a necklace or a scarf – make sure you include a couple of those in your luggage. Accessories can completely elevate your look, so ensure you don’t leave your house without them.
