Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – Hi everyone, so today I’m going to be writing about this Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and to begin with, I thought it would be something I wouldn’t use as much but…..you’d be surprised at how great this actually is!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – Packaging

As you can see this looks lovely, every brand has it’s own staple….Clarins is red, Tiffany’s is green, Benefit is colourful and Urban Decay goes with purple!

I love the simplistic / professional look to their packaging – it’s eye-catching, sleek and lovely complimenting their products perfectly!

Inside the ‘little purple box’ you’re greeted by a lovely product – I mean, how cute is the gem-style wand….I love it! 🙂

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – Texture

There’s 3 different primers that I like to use on cleansed skin before applying my make-up, 2 of them being a spray-on-primer and one being a silicone-based primer. See GOSH Foundation Primer Review and the Freedom Makeup Priming water…..the third is from Urban Decay which I haven’t featured on here yet.

Normally that would be it in terms of primers but I’ve also been using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer and I really love it!

The texture is quite unique, think of a lightweight silky moisturiser that dries in seconds – literally!

As you apply this onto your eye area you can feel it’s quite creamy but like I mentioned above, this dries in seconds and feels super-lightweight!

However when you apply your eyeshadow base colour, you’ll be able to notice that it ‘clings‘ onto the primer so you do need to be quick with this – apply and blend, don’t let it settle too much as it ‘locks’ into place after a couple of minutes.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – How To Use

Once you’ve applied your face primer and foundation then it’s time to use your urban decay eyeshadow primer!

All I do is swipe the wand over the eyelid and using my ring finger, I blend it into the skin working my way up to the arch of my brow. This evens out your skin-tone too!

Depending on what look I’m going for, I then apply my eyeshadow base colour which is similar to my skin-tone (Makeup Revolution Affirmation Palette) and apply it all over the eye area to make sure skin tone is even.

In minutes the eyeshadow ‘locks‘ into place or become ‘bullet-proof‘ as people like to call it so you do have to be quick when using the urban decay eyeshadow primer.

Following up with a brown shade – blend into crease and outer corner of the eyes for a subtle daytime smokey eye.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – Long-Lasting?

Yes!

This is perfect for make-up artists to use on set and on shoots as it’ll really help your make-up creations to look perfect all day long and you only need to use a little amount too!

If you’re someone who wants to apply make-up in the morning before work and ensure it’ll still look lovely in the evening, add it to your make-up / beauty bag as you’ll enjoy using this! 🙂

If you’re a beginner in make-up, I wouldn’t really recommend this as it’s a product that you have to be quick with when using it but if you’re comfortable with makeup….who am I to stop you?

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Review – Purchase

You can purchase this from Debenhams for just £14.40 and considering how little you need to use this will last you 4-6 months with daily use! 🙂
