Motivation Monday – Staying Healthy

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all well after a great weekend! I know I’ve gone quiet since this post here but it’s all for a reason and I promise you, you’re all going to love it!

I have so much exciting news to share so please make sure you’re follow me on Instagram and Snapchat for all the latest! 🙂 (@layladbeauty – on both)

In this Motivation Monday post I’m writing about staying healthy – I know, it’s easier said than done as I absolutely love my desserts and sweets but here are a few simple ways on staying healthy! 🙂

Motivation Monday – Staying Healthy – Smoothies

Swap your coffee for a smoothie instead!

We don’t need to have a coffee in the morning, it’s just out of habit. I’ve found that by making a fresh fruit smoothie in the morning I’m feeling a lot more refreshed, energised and that way I can enjoy my coffee later on in the day and actually appreciate it more rather than being half-awake!

Try different fruits with the seasons and add things like mint to really make it a refreshing drink! 🙂

Motivation Monday – Staying Healthy – Drink Water

I know, it’s something that you’ve heard time and time again but water really does matter in staying healthy!

I’ve reduced the amount of juice that I drink and now mainly drink water – try drinking a glass as soon as you wake up and before you go to bed.

This will help to flush out all the toxins and generally do your body good! 🙂

Motivation Monday – Staying Healthy – Treat Yourself

I didn’t say that staying healthy had to be boring – treat yourself once or twice a week to the foods that you want to enjoy!

Want a piece of chocolate or cake – have it!

It’s just about finding the balance between staying healthy and also treating yourself when you fancy a certain type of food or drink, just don’t overdo it! 🙂

So there we have this weeks Motivation Monday post – I hope you all enjoyed it and like I said, I have so much coming soon!!! 🙂

What’s your favourite way to stay healthy?

  • It is easier said than done indeed, Layla. I have been trying to get to the size before I gave birth to my boy, but still not there. I just can’t give up carbs. Ha!! Having said that, I’m proud of myself too, because I’ve made progress from when I gave birth. Healthy living one day at a time. Ha!
    Enjoy your week!

    • Thank you so much – I agree, sometimes you just don’t have the motivation but step by step you can get there!! Healthy is key – be happy and grateful hahaha 🙂 xxxx

  • I ALWAYS need motivation to stay healthy, I have such an awful sweet tooth. The smoothies are a great idea and also, putting mint in sounds amazing and something I never even thought to do! Great post, hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! XO -Kim

    • Ah I have a sweet tooth too but just make sure to eat everything in balance – a little of everything works for me! 🙂 xxxx

  • I mostly just grab an assortment of fruit before leaving the house and try to drink as much water as I can. I can’t say I am particularly good at this, as I literally just had two cupcakes for breakfast. I think the most important thing is to stick with it, as I know sometimes once you’ve caved and eaten a chocolate or something it is easy to get disheartened and write off the rest of the day eating a tonne of junk food and being disappointed in yourself. It is a better habit, in my opinion, to get back on track right away. Don’t beat yourself up about it, and just move forward. Great post, I want a NutriBullet so I can make some tasty smoothies.

    • Thank you so much for your lovely comment – I agree, I love smoothies and the Nutribullet looks incredible! 🙂 xxx

  • I love any post focussing on health and fitness, and Monday is certainly the perfect time to discuss it – this day sets the tone for the rest of the week! 🙂 I love your points Layla and especially drinking more water. I increased my water intake x 3 times over a few months ago and it’s been so, so good for my skin!
