Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain *

Lime Crime is a brand I’ve admired for some time however I haven’t actually managed to use any of their products – until now!

I love the brand itself, it’s completely unique and all their products are vegan and cruelty free!

I was kindly sent the Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain and I have to say it’s one of the best lip stains I’ve used!

Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain – Packaging

As you can see in the pictures above the lip stain comes packed in a lovely bright pink/red ‘box’ with pretty flowers dotted all over – very girly and cute!

Take out the lip stain and the same design is on the top of the lip wand, the bottle has a frosted look to it but feels really soft which suits the ‘Velvetine’ name.

Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain – Colour

I was kindly sent ‘Pink Velvet’ a beautiful bright pink/red colour which is extremely addictive, once you wear it you’ll want to wear it again and again and again!

Pink Velvet is a colour which will compliment all skin tones, it’s bright, vibrant and fresh with a blue undertone meaning it makes your teeth look whiter – yay!

Bright lip colours are perfect for people on the go, I find it reduces my make-up time by at least 10 minutes as all I need to do is line my eyes with eyeliner and I’m good to go! 

Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain – Lasting Power

OK, lip stains are designed to be long-lasting however after using a variety of them from different brands none have really managed to look great all day long.

The Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain is by far the BEST lip stain I’ve used and as you can see when scrolling through the pictures I even tried to wash off the swatch on the back of my hand with fairy washing up liquid and it didn’t come off!!

I decided to test this on a day when I would be attending various meetings in London as I know I’ll be having drinks and munching on the little snacks throughout the day.

Applied at 08:00 in the morning I headed out and didn’t get home till around midnight….I have never been this impressed with a product.

It had faded only slightly but the colour was still there and that was after a lot of snacks, drinks and smiles during the day!

The next day I applied this again but also used lip balm to see the difference and it didn’t last as well.

By the end of the day there was very little colour left so I wouldn’t recommend using a lip balm with this lip stain if you want it to last/look great all day!

Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain – Look

The Pink Velvet velvetine lip stain turns from a shiny gloss to a matte lip stain within a couple of minutes, I’m starting to love the matte look as it’s quite a nice change from your typical gloss and your hair doesn’t stick to it! 🙂

I do recommend applying a lip balm every night to keep lips smooth – if you have dry/chapped lips this won’t look great…

Overall thoughts

If you want a lip stain that will last all day then look no further, this is by far the BEST lip stain I have tried!!

The colour is gorgeous and I’m slightly addicted to it, it looks gorgeous all day and I think this will be great in the summer – eyeliner + bright lip + tan = Great!
