KOMOTINI - Travel Guide
Komotini is a city in Northeastern Greece and is one of the main administrative, financial and cultural centers in the area along with being an increasingly attractive tourist destination.
Hey, hey, hey!
I hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend - as a lot of you know (especially if you follow me on Instagram) I've been travelling across Europe for different projects and am currently working on a number of travel guides to feature on here.
The travel guide which I'm featuring on here today is from Komotini - Greece and as you can see in the photos above, it's the perfect place to visit all-year-round but especially this time of year when things start getting cosy.
Komotini To Xanthi
If you're staying in Komotini for a few days and have a car or hire-car, then I recommend visiting Xanthi.
With all the new developments which have been taking place over the past few years, Xanthi is now about a 10 minute drive away from Komotini - you can use the toll roads to avoid any traffic too.
For people who love taking photos during travels, you'll love it as you can really take advantage of the historical buildings and pathways.
Plus, with nights now getting darker quicker, you'll be able to see the lights twinkling on the mountains in the distance as you sit at one of the many coffee bars.
Komotini Night Life
Even though Komotini is considered to be a small place, it's an incredibly attractive tourist destination.
The night-life feels like you're in the City of Athens during a busy evening.
With cafe's packed and restaurants bustling with people - you'll instantly feel uplifted with all the people enjoying themselves.
The photo of the building on the right is one of the oldest buildings in Komotini - on the first floor, there's a beautiful cafe which is recommended.
Heart of Komotini
As mentioned, Komotini is a small place and it makes much more sense to get around on foot if you're staying in one of the hotels in the town centre.
Near to the centre, there's a Shopping Plaza called Kosmopolis Park - here you can find brand department stores, cafe's, restaurants, supermarkets and a cinema. Above the shopping Plaza there's also housing for the many students in the area.
Komotini - Where To Stay
There's no shortage of hotels in Komotini and during my visit, I stayed at Kyridis Hotel.
It's a lovely hotel with bright, airy rooms and located close to the city centre and square.
So close in fact, that it's only a 5 minute walk away from lovely cafe's - all perfect for your morning coffee!
