Interior Decor: The Perfect Children's Bedroom (Tips and Tricks)
The Sprinkles of Style team is back with a brand new post and this time, sharing tips and tricks on how to create the perfect children's bedroom.
They're just as important places in the home and that's the reason why they need to be designed perfectly so sit back, relax and let Sprinkles of Style guide you to the perfect room...
Make sure there's space for children to play on.
Children's bedrooms are not just rooms for children to sleep in - no, they're also used as playrooms to let kids imaginations run wild.
You need to make sure that there's enough space in a children's room to encourage playtime, motivation and imagination.
A good way to make sure there's enough space is to place a rug on the floor - this can be something fun or colourful which will keep you child comfortable but also give them a designated space to play in whilst adding a fun touch to the room.
Do All You Can To Keep The Room Tidy
Every room can be kept tidy and there's nothing better than a clean, organised and today room for a child to play in.
There are things that can be done in the designing process of a child’s room to make the task of keeping it tidy in the long run far easier, one of these things include placing a children’s cabin bed in there rather than a traditional bed.
By doing so the space that is taken up by your child’s bed will also double as a storage space, meaning more space will become available in the ongoing effort to keep the room tidy.
Regulate The Light In The Room
Sleep is such an important part of children's bedroom and when considering the design process - you need to make sure your child will always feel comfortable and at ease to settle down in the evening.
One way to do this is to make sure that the light in the room is made to be as comfortable as possible - especially in the darkness. Consider having roller blinds fitted.
There's a number of beautiful designs to choose from and will allow the right amount of light in the room.
Always Opt For Neutral Decor
As tempting as it might be to turn your children bedroom into a design which is filled with bright colours - sometimes, it's just as nice to choose neutral decor which can be co-ordinated with different accessories such as the picture featured.
As children grow up so do their own tastes and desires so if you spend a lot of time (and money) on vibrant colours and design features - in a year, all that could change. By having a neutral option, you can change accessories to suit your child as they grow.
So, stay simple and stay neutral.
Once you're done with changing the decor in your children's bedroom - why not look at updating a guest bedroom?
If you're anything like Layla - this is the time when you'll start making changes in your home so follow in her footsteps and opt for neutral decor with plenty of lovely accessories.
