How To Make Your House Feel More Like A Home
"There's No Place Like Home"
What happens if your house doesn't quite feel like a home yet? It could be that you've just moved in or haven't had the chance to transform the space to make it feel right for you.
Whatever the case, you can count on us here at Sprinkles of Style as we're sharing our tips on how to make your house feel more like a home and yes - it's easier than you think!
🙂
Pets
OK, we know - it's not always easy to have a pet however, they do make a difference to your life! Just look at Layla and her Chihuahua, Thunder! 🙂
If you already have pets, chances are that they're going to get used to their new place before you do - they're great at adapting (depending on the breed of dog) - as long as they're with their owner, they're happy!
If you don't have a pet, then why not look at getting one? Remember, adopting a dog or cat isn't a decision to be made lightly however by adopting, you're helping an animal and giving them all the love that they need.
This will be a great way to start fresh if you've recently moved and will also make your house feel more like a home with their new presence!
Frame It
After moving to your new home, you often have to re-arrange the furniture once or twice to make sure you're happy with how things look.
Once you position everything in the way you like, you can then look at adding your unique touches around your home which will start to transform the place, making your house feel like a home.
Look at hanging photo frames and any other artwork you have - family photos and memories can really help make the space feel cosy and comforting.
If you're renting, look at adhesive frame hangers instead.
This way, you can add your own unique touch to the place without damaging the walls.
🙂
Relax At Home
The more you spend time at home, the more you'll get used to the space, especially if you've recently moved in and once of the easiest ways is to relax at home.
Create a beautiful and inviting environment that makes you feel calm, happy and peaceful - look at purchasing some new luxury candles, invest in pampering bath products, cook a new recipe (check out the best cookie recipe EVER) and invite people over.
Spend some time on making your house a home, it doesn't take a lot - it just takes time to create the most beautiful space.
No Clutter Zones
OK, if you're anything like Layla then this doesn't count for you. You won't have clutter anywhere and everything will be positioned and placed around. your home perfectly! 😉
However, if you're someone who dots things around your home until you figure out what to do - that's fine but don't be too lazy. You know those boxes which have been sat at the bottom of the stairs for a month?
Move them into the loft and make use of the space - add a vase or decorative pieces where the boxes once were.
If you don't want certain items then donate them to charity. If you do want to keep items then use the correct shelving and boxes to put things away properly.
There we have some simple ways on how to make your house a home - it doesn't take a lot to create a beautiful, inviting space that you can relax in. All you need to do is spend some time and a little bit of effort in creating the perfect space for you and you'll love your home!
Let us know what you think - we're waiting to read your comments! 🙂

No clutter zones is definitely a good one! I always have a couple of things I tend to alternate between putting them on my bed or desk depending on which one I’m not using, should just put them away! (P.s I replied to your comment on my blog x)
