I absolutely love my skincare products and during the year, I find it beneficial to add certain products to my skincare routine and in this article, we’re bringing you the Clarins Multi Active Day Cream.

About – Clarins Day Cream

Even though this is described as a product for dry skin, this is a cream that suits most skin types – excluding oily skin*.

With key ingredients including Shea Butter and plant extracts.

This is fantastic to use when you feel like your skin needs a boost whether it’s looking dull, tired or feeling dry.

It really is a hydrating, creamy and rich cream – you only need a little amount as a little goes a long way, helping to hydrate, smooth and provide your skin with a radiant glow.

*If you suffer with oily skin, you can still use this day cream as it has balancing properties.

The best way is to apply it is onto damp skin (once you’ve cleansed your face) and letting it absorb for 10-15 minutes.

Within that time, if you feel your skin is starting to look shiny or feel oilier, you can rinse the remaining day cream with warm water as your skin will have absorbed what’s needed – helping to balance the skin, over time.

How To Use – Clarins Active Day Cream

I personally use this 2-3 times a week when I feel like my skin feels dry or dehydrated and needs a boost.

This really is a rich and rather luxurious cream, it’s a thick cream so you only need a little amount.

Adding this to my skincare routine, I personally use a little amount as I feel it’s more than enough for my skin type.

For dry skin, I would recommend using this 3-5 times a week with a nourishing night cream in the evening.

  • Cleanse your skin with a hydrating cleanser. I have two-three different cleansers that I switch between, depending on how my skin looks and feels.
  • Depending on how my skin feels, I may skip toner – normally, in the evening I’ll use it but it depends on how my skin feels.
  • Moisturiser is applied.
My go-to creams are lightweight on the skin but as mentioned, I do switch depending on how my skin looks and feels and this happens throughout the year with the change in weather and conditions.

I apply my moisturiser with dots on the apples of my cheeks, neck and T-zone, massaging it into my skin until I can feel it absorbing.
  • Night Cream is applied in the same way as my moisturiser.

Again, I tend to reach for lightweight night creams however during the winter months, I do use luxurious, thicker creams which help my skin to feel soft, smooth and lovely.
  • Always apply a lip balm!
I love lip balms and reach for them day and night. One of my go-to is from Clarins but I love different types, including lip oils some of which double-up as cuticle balms. (There’s a post coming soon.)

Suitable For:

  • Skin Type: Clarins recommends this for dry skin however, I would say it’s for every skin type – oily skin just needs to use it carefully.
  • Texture: Cream. This is a rich moisturising cream.

Top Tip: Apply onto your face and neck with the remainder on hands being massaged onto the back of your hands and cuticles. Don’t forget, it has Shea Butter!
  • Use: Clarins says, apply this onto cleansed face and neck each morning.

Use it as a moisturising day cream or even as a lightweight night cream (it works in this way too) due to it’s balancing and nourishing properties – including Shea Butter to leave your skin feeling soft, hydrated and nourished.

If you do have a budget and are wondering whether you’d want to splurge – you can treat yourself to a gift – especially if you feel like your skin needs that moisturising boost.

There are other options out there but I do feel like you get a different experience when you use Clarins.

Think of it as an at-home spa treatment.

Priced at £47.00 – it’s not cheap so it does depend on your budget and how you’d feel spending on skincare.

You can also take a look at different gift sets and offers available on the Clarins website.

There’s different deals on their website and you can also have a look at their different stockists who have gift sets too.
