Lip Balms which work all year round!

Lip Balms that work all year round!

Lately I’ve been receiving a lot of emails from you gorgeous readers asking what my favourite/go-to lip products are so after looking through my stash of goodies I’ve managed to whittle it down to 2 lip products I love with one of them doubling up as a multi-use product 🙂

I don’t know if it’s just me but I seem to have a little obsession with lip-balms, they’re everywhere from my desk, handbag, beauty drawers, car – generally dotted all over the place!

My go-to lip balms

The two you see pictured above are my all-time favourites and I’ve listed all the reasonings below for you! 🙂

Soap and Glory Smooch Operator Lip Balm

I’m a huge fan of Soap and Glory but you may have seen in some of my recent posts that I’m not too keen on their new packaging and yes I know that it’s down to the actual product itself  BUT Soap and Glory if you’re reading, please change it back to the pretty packaging….thank you! 🙂

Smooch Operator is small, lovely and looks quite simplistic yet very neat – a step back from their typical packaging but at the same time cute.

The balm itself is a very delicate shade of pink but it smells amazing! Like summer in a pot – think coconuts, fruit and summer air….you really could be in Hawaii if you closed your eyes haha!

When applied this feels really lovely and extremely nourishing BUT if you apply a thick layer it can be a little bit heavy and feels slightly oily which I’m not a fan of so I always apply a very little amount.

However this does double up as a wonderful cuticle/nail balm too – the oilier texture is great and strangely is absorbed pretty quickly when used on cuticles so this is a great product especially with winter on the way.

Pop in your handbag and use during the day 🙂

Clarins Hydraquench Lip Balm

I know I’m only talking about 2 lip balms in this post but the Clarins Hydraquench Lip Balm is my all time favourite lip balm, it works overnight – literally!

In winter, skin is prone to getting dry – especially lips, with all the temperature changes and going from the warm indoors to the harsh, cold weather outside it does take it’s toll but with the right products you can get by just fine. 🙂

(I’ll be covering this in another post and writing about my favourite winter skincare)

I love the Clarins Hydraquench Lip Balm and I apply this during the day too but when the weather gets quite harsh and cold I’ll use it as an overnight treatment too – apply before bed and you’re guaranteed to wake up with soft, smooth kissable lips – seriously 😀

The packaging is lovely, sleek and a lot more hygienic as there’s no dabbing into pots, simply pop in your bag to use during the day or keep it on your bedside table and use as an overnight treatment – it really works!

I know the packaging is really simple and it might not be the girliest looking product out there but the product itself is really lovely, a cotton-candy shade of pink with a deliciously sweet rose scent….it’s one of the nicest smelling products and I really can’t get enough of this….I think I actually fall in love with it a little bit more each time I use it hahaha 🙂

These are both wonderful lip balms and I use them all year round and with one doubling up as a cuticle treatment what’s not to love?

The weather is getting colder in the UK and I’m actually sat here with a big mug of hot chocolate all wrapped up in my fluffy dressing gown so hopefully these products can be of benefit in some way! 🙂

Let me know if you’ve used either of the above lip balms or what your favourite product is…..is it good old vaseline or something fancier?
