A Nourishing Skincare Routine For 2020
The New Year is here and there’s no better time than now to kick-start your skincare routine!
With the start of 2020, many of us will be looking at ways to improve, not only our skincare, but our diet, mind and wellness overall.
In this post, I’m bringing you a lovely selection of products from Nakin Skincare – they were kindly sent to me last year and I’ve been testing them out for the past 3 weeks.
Below, you’ll find all the details you need including the best ways to use the products – depending on your skin type.
Nakin Skincare Collection
You’ll be getting all the details for these three products – all of them are highly nourishing and perfect for this time of year when the weather is colder, and harsher, on our skin!
Like I mentioned above, I’ve got all the details for how each skin type can benefit using these products – that’s right, even if you have oily skin, the revitalising oil can work for you too!
Nakin Advanced Cleansing Milk – Nourishing Skincare Routine For 2020
As a lot of you know, I don’t normally choose cleansing milks – I personally prefer face washes but I always give things a go.
Nakin Advanced Cleansing Milk – Texture
Highly nourishing and as you can see in the photo, this is a lot thicker than a typical milk cleanser.
It’s a thick cream-based cleanser which is really nice and adds a luxury touch to your skincare routine.
When I use milk-type cleansing lotions, I feel like they don’t cleanse as well as they should however, being thicker, this really cleanses AND hydrates your skin.
Nakin Advanced Cleansing Milk – How To Use
I tend to use this twice – I love double-cleansing my skin (I know, I’m a bit of a clean freak) and sometimes will even follow up with a cleansing water, depending on how I feel.
I use a good amount of the cleansing cream (similar to the photo) and I warm the product in the palm of my hands, before massaging onto my face and neck.
Massage and work the product well into your skin for around 2 minutes, before rinsing with warm water.
This is where I also use a warm face town to wipe my skin – before repeating the cleansing step.
Once you’ve double-cleansed, you’ll feel that your skin feels really clean – almost tingly fresh!
Nakin Revitalising Face Oil – Nourishing Skincare Routine For 2020
After cleansing your skin, you can also use a cleansing water depending on how your skin feels. If I really want to pamper and refresh my skin, I will.
If not, I’ll go straight from cleansing to applying the revitalising face oil.
A lot of people hear about face oils and run a mile but don’t! There’s so many benefits for all skin types.
How Can Different Skin Types Use Face Oil?
Below, I’ve shared some tips but one thing I always mention is that you can use skincare products as you like. These are just my recommendations and how I feel things will work for people.
Normal Skin – Use the face oil in the evening. Skip the night cream if you don’t want to apply too many products and watch your skin glow.
If you’re pampering your skin, apply your face oil and then apply a night cream to ‘lock in’ all those wonderful ingredients.
Oily / Combination Skin – Use a face oil 2-3 times a week, in the evening – after cleansing, or when you feel like your skin needs a boost.
By adding and incorporating an oil-based product to your skincare, you’ll actually help to balance your oil levels and you’ll see the benefits with your skin.
Dry Skin – Use this 3-4 times a week to really hydrate and nourish your skin. Preferably in the evening and you can also use a lovely, hydrating night cream to lock in the ingredients.
If you suffer with severely dry skin, use this in the morning, after cleansing your skin and before applying your moisturiser.
Sensitive Skin – Face oils can still be used on sensitive skin to benefit and soothe.
You can use it once a week – preferably in the evening, to hydrate your skin. Over time, you should see the benefits of using a face oil and noticing that sensitivity reduces.
Nakin Revitalising Face Oil – How To Use
I use this 2-3 times a week, depending on how my skin looks and feels – you can use this more or less, it’s all down to personal preference.
After cleansing my skin, I’ll add 1-2 pumps of the product to the palms of my hands and ‘warm’ the oil prior to applying.
I don’t massage the product, I press the product delicately onto my face and neck – letting the product be absorbed by my skin instead.
Sit back and let the product sink into your skin – giving you a lovely glow.
At this stage, I don’t follow up with a moisturiser – my skin is happy with the two products as they’re both highly nourishing.
If you have dry skin or dry patches, you can follow up with a moisturiser or night cream for added hydration.
The final product that I reach for is my lip balm – I change my products throughout the year but lip balm is a staple all-year-round. Right now, I’m using the Nakin Lip Balm which you’ll be able to see more of below…
Nakin Lip Treatment Balm – Nourishing Skincare Routine For 2020
Personally, I prefer lip balms in tubes – I just feel like they’re a lot more hygienic however this is a great product which can be used for a number of things.
Lip Balm – Apply as and when you need. This is really hydrating, soothing and perfect for the cold, harsh weather. I apply balm before leaving the house as it protects whilst moisturising.
Use it as you need throughout the day and of course, before sleep – letting the product sink in overnight.
Cuticle Cream – I love a multi-use product and have found that this works wonders as a cuticle balm too! I love keeping my hands, nails and cuticles in the best condition and this is great to use as a cuticle cream.
A little goes a long way so apply and massage into cuticles.
Brow Tamer – You know them products that add a ‘shine’ to brows? They’re basically wax-based products so why not use something like this instead. Apply a little to brows and brush them into shape.
Highlight – Again, why opt for other balm-like products when you have things like this? If you use things like vaseline (please don’t) ditch them for products like this instead – with good-for-you ingredients. Apply along the cheekbone for a dewy look.
I always love reading all your comments so let me know what you all think about Nakin Skincare.
A brand with natural and anti-ageing products which really help to nourish and hydrate your skin with each and every use.
