La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid V Gel

La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid V Gel Cream – La Roche Posay is a brandย that I had known about for years but really started using their products last year, it’s a brand that I love for their effective products with wonderful formulas especially the La Roche Posay Physiological Cleanser which remains one of my go-to cleansers!

I was kindly sent the Anthelios Gel Cream a couple of weeks ago as it’s claimed to be perfect for keeping shine/oil away in the summer heat – just what we need! So instead of just writing a review of one product, I thought about comparing the Anthelios Fluid and Gel Cream, ย two of the most popular products from the Anthelios Range ๐Ÿ™‚

La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid V Gel Cream – Packaging

I always have to mention the packaging of products I’m talking about, it’s weird if I don’t!

They both come packaged in boxesย (not pictured) which is really lovely, I tend to keep all the boxes as this allows me to keep everything organised in my makeup drawers and makes lining things up a lot easier.

They both look rather simple but the pop of colour catches your eye and draws you in to all the relevant information about the product.

La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid

This is an awkward shape but very cute at the same time – it’s quite a flat product which is handy to have in your bag if you want to apply on the go during the day and has a point applicator allowing you to use a little at a time.

La Roche Posay Anthelios Gel Cream

As you can see this looks different to the Anthelios Fluid, it comes in a tube applicator which is great for face creams or moisturiser as it’s easy to use and apply on the go and at the beach!

La Roche Posay Athelios Fluid V Gel Cream – Texture

Considering they’re both to be used for protection against the sun, they’re both VERY different from one another but each one is great in it’s own way.

La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid

The fluid (as seen below on the left) is a very lightweight lotion – it’s not a cream but it DOES hydrate your skin in a wayย that not many lotions do!

Give the bottle a little shake to make sure it’s all mixed and apply to your skin – let it sink in for a couple of minutes and you’re then good to go!

La Roche Posay Anthelios Gel Cream

This product can be seen below (on the right) and as you can hopefully tell it’s a rather thick cream – now when I read the packaging of it being a ‘Gel-Cream‘ thought it would be a gel-like clear or milky product but it’s not!

It’s just like a sunscreen – it’s thick and when applied onto skin it leaves you looking white but after massaging it into skin you’re left with a glowing look. Considering that this is meant for no-shine you do have to be a little bit patient and ensure you let it absorb for a few minutes.

I will admit that I do think I used more than what was needed – a pea sized amount is more than enough to cover your face as a little of this goes a VERY long way!

La Roche Posay Anthelios Gel Cream – Does it Mattify Skin?

Yes and Noโ€ฆ.

I know that doesn’t answer the questions butย here’s a simple step to follow for it to actually work – all you need to do is apply a little amount! A pea-size amount is more than enough for your face as it’s a very thick cream (not gel-like) and let it sink in to your skin for a good few minutes.

If you apply more your skin will ‘glow’ and that’s not what this is aimed for!

La Roche Posay Anthelios Range – Purchase

You can purchase theย La Roche Posay Anthelios Range on Escentual where you can find something for all the family! ๐Ÿ™‚

What is the La Roche Posay Anthelios Range?

This is a sun-protection range that meets dermatologists high standards and can be used to protect sensitive skins too – La Roche Posay has worked with the top dermatologists to test and make sure their Anthelios range is one of the best.

Keeping you and your family safe in the sun.

When it comes to your sun care products you really do need to take the time and look around for the best – there’s a variety out thereย from many wonderful brands which I’ll be featuring in a post soon!

Is it worth saving money on products like this? No – in my opinion it’s better to spend and make sure your skin is protected from the sun this summerโ€ฆ.

Let me know what you think – have you seen these products? Used them??

I really like this range, the fluid is my go to facial spf at the moment. I will definitely have to check out the gel, I love a lighter formula especially when it comes to spf because my skin is extremely sensitive.

I have heard great things about them, although you didn’t find them to be mattifying. The one thing that concerns me though is using just a pea sized amount. That way you will not get the protection proclaimed, to achieve the SPF 50+ protection you need to use a teaspoon for face and neck, that is how they are tested and labelled. And if that leaves you all shiny, it probably isn’t the right product for me.
The lotion sounds like it would be more to my taste. Great thing you compared them.
