The Truth About Blogging: The Process and Two Faced Bloggers

The Truth About Blogging: The Process and Two Faced Bloggers

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all well and having a lovely day so far – shame about this weather! It’s dark and cloudy outside which is making me want to get on a plane and jet off to the sunshine! 🙂

This is a post which I’ve been meaning to write for a while however I’m the type of person who follows their instinct and I just didn’t feel like the time was right but today, I feel like it’s right!

I wanted to share my thoughts about blogging, the process and how I’ve personally experience two-faced bloggers which is ruining the beauty of the blogging industry.

The Truth About Blogging – It’s NOT Easy

I really don’t appreciate it when people think that blogging is easy. For many of us, it’s our full-time work and personally, I started out of luck not realising that this could become a career or that I could make a living from it.

You see the beautiful pictures, you see the lovely locations people travel to, you see the beauty reviews and events people attend but that’s just it – that’s the part you see.

You don’t see how much effort and time is needed to write one blog post, one beauty review or how long it takes to edit photography and videos.

I work full-time on my blog and I love every part of it!

Most of the time, I’ll be working till 3 in the morning whether it’s writing posts, replying to emails from around the world or editing photos and videos.

When I tell people that I’m a blogger – they laugh! Thanks, I didn’t know it was that funny…. It’s easy for people to assume it’s easy but there’s so much more than meets the eye in this industry.

The Truth About Blogging – Two Faced Bloggers

Before people say that I’ve labelled all bloggers as being two faced – that’s not the case.

I have met some lovely bloggers at events who have all been really nice to me but there’s also been a lot of them who are one thing to your face and completely different behind your back.

Two Faced Bloggers – My Experience

I was lucky enough to be invited to a really beautiful blog event a little while ago, it was in London and I was introduced to the whole team who had held the event and product launches.

The team then kindly introduced all the bloggers to one another – some I knew through blogging, some I had never met before.

We were told about the different product launches and as the evening progressed we started to chatting to each other.

One blogger started chatting to me – she was so lovely and I’m sure many of you follow her and see her videos on Youtube.

We chatted throughout the evening about the new products, the location and we even followed each other on social media.

I asked her a few questions about blogging and how things have changed for her, she has been involved much longer than me and I always enjoy hearing people’s opinions.

We organised to meet up for a coffee and to feature in each others Vlog’s – brilliant, for me, it’s all about helping and supporting one another.

A few days later, I was scrolling through my social media pages only to realise that the blogger in question had unfollowed me – on all social media pages.

This is what I don’t understand.

I could never be nice to someone and then do something different. If I like you, I will chat with you, help you, support you and be a friend.

If I don’t like you, you’ll know about it – there’s no two ways with me and that’s what I like from other people too.

The Truth About Blogging – Bloggers Who Think They’re Better

If you think the above is bad – check this out!

In my very early days of blogging, I attended another event – again, this was in London.

One of my favourite bloggers was there, she has a big following and many of you will follow her and watch her videos regularly –  I went over to speak to her when she looked at me and said “No”.

I smiled not really realising what she meant and she repeated herself by saying “No, you can’t sit here” the group of bloggers next to her (all known) were sat together and as I was a ‘new blogger’ with a small following couldn’t sit (or speak) to her.

I will never forget the feeling – I was so embarrassed and felt so small! I could never dream of doing that to someone.

There has been so many occasions where I’ve felt pushed away by other bloggers and I don’t see understand why that happens.

We are all the same – no matter how big or small our following, we are all doing the same thing and trying to do the best for ourselves.

The Truth About Blogging: The Process and Two Faced Bloggers

How can we change the industry?

I think we can all work together and support one another instead of making people feel small or bad about themselves.

No matter if you’re a newbie to blogging or have been blogging for a while – we are all the SAME and with hard work, passion and by remaining true to yourself, you’ll achieve your goals and aspirations.

Don’t change yourself to fit in or be accepted by others – that’s what makes you beautiful and unique.

I’d like to think that through my blog I can provide some form of hope, motivation and support  to people no matter where they are.

There’s a lot that you don’t see when it comes to blogging, it’s not as easy as you think and there’s a lot of jealousy involved too.

I’ve learned so much in the past few months and regardless, I still love blogging! I won’t allow anyone to bring me down, hold me back or make me feel like I’m anything less….

Every experience / situation happens for a reason and as long as we learn from it and move forward – it can only help us to grow and become a better, stronger person!

I’d love to know your thoughts especially if you’ve been faced with problems like this….
